Our Commitment to Openness

Effective Date: January 18, 2026

Our Commitment to Openness In line with our platform—that government records should be public at the point of creation—this campaign operates with a “Sunshine First” mentality. We believe you should know exactly how your data is handled, especially as we work to innovate Utah’s transparency infrastructure.

1. Information We Collect

  • Voluntary Information: We collect information you provide directly to us, such as your name, email address, phone number, and zip code when you sign up for updates, volunteer, or participate in “Meet the Candidates” events.
  • Technical Data: To ensure our platform is accessible to all citizens working in today’s economy, we collect basic technical data (cookies, IP addresses, and browser types) to understand how voters interact with our site and to improve our digital outreach.

2. Strategic Partnership with CitizenPortal.ai

This campaign is built on the belief that public data belongs to the public. To fulfill our mission of making Utah the “gold standard” for transparency, we work in direct partnership with CitizenPortal.ai.

  • Data Integration: Information collected through this site may be shared with the CitizenPortal.ai team to assist in building the Utah public records taxonomy, identifying gaps in local meeting compliance, and fueling the database of 114,000+ public meetings.
  • Shared Mission: We share data with this partner to streamline the process of getting information into the hands of citizens. We do not sell your personal data to unrelated third-party marketers or data brokers for commercial profit.

3. Financial and Legal Disclosures

As a candidate for the Utah House of Representatives, certain information is subject to state law:

  • Campaign Finance: Per Utah Code § 20A-11, contributions over $50 must be reported to the Lieutenant Governor’s Office, including the donor’s name, address, date, and amount. These records are public.
  • Voter Records: While we protect your privacy on this site, voter registration information in Utah is governed by State Statute, which determines what information is public or private at the state level.

4. SMS and Communications

If you provide your phone number for campaign alerts, we will only use it for campaign-related purposes and strategic transparency updates. We will not share your SMS opt-in consent with any third party for their own marketing purposes.

5. Your Rights

You may opt-out of our communications at any time by clicking the “unsubscribe” link in any email.
